Codex
Install Day Director in Codex
Codex installs Day Director as a plugin. The plugin points at daydirector.com/api/mcp and reads the personal token from DAY_DIRECTOR_MCP_TOKEN. Codex can list projects, create KEY-N tasks, update Today, and write the project plan. It never deletes tasks or projects.
- 1. Create a token. Sign in, then Settings → MCP. Create a personal token. Treat it like a password.
- 2. Export the token in the environment that starts Codex, then restart Codex. The value is not stored in the plugin.
- 3. Add the marketplace. josefwebdeveloper/project-os is private, so Codex needs access to that GitHub repository. From a clone, use the local command instead.
- 4. Install the plugin. In Codex, open the plugin directory, choose Day Director, and install Day Director.
- 5. Use it. Ask Codex to list workspaces, then name the workspace. Example: “list projects, then add a task to Today.”
export DAY_DIRECTOR_MCP_TOKEN='dd_your_token' codex plugin marketplace add josefwebdeveloper/project-os
From a clone of this repo, if the GitHub add fails:
codex plugin marketplace add .
The plugin catalog is .agents/plugins/marketplace.json. The package is codex-plugin/. Server https://daydirector.com/api/mcp uses DAY_DIRECTOR_MCP_TOKEN. A trusted checkout of this repo enables the plugin in .codex/config.toml after the marketplace is installed.
